Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream

I made a Ferrero Rocher ice cream cake last year at this time, and it was more impressive to look at than to eat. I’d split up the flavors of the candy into the layers of the cake, which while delicious, were kind of one-note and overall not as rich and luxurious as the candy itself.

This time I decided to just pulverize about 15 of them into a xanthan gum ice cream base, and add a hefty scoop of Nutella.

The chocolate, hazelnut and wafer cookie flavors all come through and the ice cream really tastes like the candy itself.
I didn’t have any hazelnuts on hand, so I used chopped up almond slices for texture. This was a great call and really added a lot to the whole experience.

I like chocolate, I love it even, but I tend to go for fruity flavors when given an option. But this is definitely a new favorite and one of the best chocolate ones I’ve tried. The balance of flavors and textures were perfect and really reminded me of the candy itself. It’s unmistakable and so delicious!

10/10 if you like chocolate you will love this one, and if you’re a Ferrero Rocher or just a Nutella fun, this is a must try!
Very easy to make and I didn’t even need a custard base to achieve a soft and easy to scoop ice cream.

Super yum!
